This framed Leaf Antiphonal in Latin is believed to be on parchment or vellum and is illuminated in red, green, white, and brown. It is unknown if it is a replica. The gilt frame on both bottom corners is damaged.
The overall dimensions are 19" x 25" and the visible leaf measures 13" x19"
The five-line musical staff is notated in plainchant squares.
A leaf antiphonal is a single sheet of paper once part of a larger antiphonal. Antiphonals are liturgical books used in Christian traditions, specifically containing the sung portions of the Divine Office (a set of prayers recited at various times throughout the day).
This is a Responsory Antiphonal for the entrance procession (intoir/ intoitus) of Pentecostal mass. The source of the text is Wisdom 1:7 & Psalm 67:2.
The top right of the red leaf is the word Pentecost in Latin, a numeral, and what appears to be scarring from stitch binding.
